This bass has a very even tone with decent mid growl. The NP5 with Alnico 3 poles gives it solid punch and clarity with a touch of added warmth. Semi open grain hand rubbed finish takes part in a luxurious butter-smooth feel on the C-D neck that is fast, slick, organic, and easy in your hand. The controls are as follows: Vol, Tone, EXB on/off toggle. The tone works 5-0 as standard treble cut. From 5-10 the PBC mid-contour kicks in to bring the midrange forward with a slight treble cut. When the EXB is engaged via the true bypass toggle, the tone control operates the EXB function. At 0 the EXB is off. 10 is full scoop with mid cut (~ 500hz), and treble/bass boost, all simultaneously. Hand rubbed CA finish that is ridiculously slick and buttery smooth.
